Bully Blends in Rapid City – the soups each day are really quite remarkable. Made from scratch by co-owner Pete, they are usually quite unique, often with things you don’t expect in a soup (like apples) but they they always amaze. Often they are vegetarian. You can get them in a ceramic bowl, or one made of bread. Currently located on 5th St, between Main and Omaha, they will be moving to a new location this spring-summer.
I recommend Hamilton’s, on Sheridan Lake Road, near Red Rocks GC. At the former site of the Sunset Grille. They are building a great outdoor eating area which should be open by summer. They do a nice job on most things. Good wine list.
Casey’s Cafe in Chamberlain. Skip Al’s Oasis and drive across the river to stop at Casey’s Cafe, up on the top of the hill overlooking the Missouri. Their basic hamburger is simply the best any where in the state. Lots of excellent home made pies to choose from. Sit in a booth by the window and take in the old cafe ambiance. The place hasn’t changed in 50 years. (that’s a good thing)
